Here’s a fantastic role in local government, working in a beautiful part of Australia, the mid north coast of NSW. You’ll be responsible for providing a regulatory enforcement and associated education service to the Council and the community. And a certificate IV in Government Investigations would definitely be handy for this one!

The role & you

As an integral member of the Rangers Team and Major Assessments and Regulatory Services Department you will be responsible for providing a regulatory enforcement and associated education service to the Council and the community. You will work in a high-volume environment, where our focus is about making a positive difference to our community by providing exceptional customer service. Your day will be varied and challenging and will require you to demonstrate your well-developed communication skills, positive approach to problem solving and ability to thrive in a changing environment.

The person

In order to be successful in this position you will require:

  • Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) and/or Rangers 1 & 2 or a willingness to obtain qualifications in this field and/ or extensive experience in the field.
  • Sound working knowledge of relevant legislation including but not limited to: the Local Government Act, Companion Animals Act, Roads Act, Impounding Act, Protection of the Environment Operations Act and the Australian Road Rules.
  • Proven ability to work effectively, autonomously and accept responsibility within a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including well-developed written and verbal communication skills coupled with interview techniques, negotiation, conflict resolution and report writing.

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

The package: Commencing salary circa $63,905 p.a. plus superannuation.

A “to and from” use vehicle is available and will be discussed with the successful candidate.

Tenure: Permanent Full Time.

  • 7 Day Rotating Roster
