Assessing the assignments that have been submitted, the following is noted:
- Responses are not answering the question being asked in the activity. Review the question carefully, analyse, identify and research the response required. Key words missed are “discuss” and “provide examples”. Remember: READ THE QUESTION.
- Cut and paste responses do not demonstrate you understand the material. When it comes to activities, discussions and practicals, people appear to struggle as the foundation knowledge has not been understood. The theory activities are not about providing an answer. The activities provide you information and resources to guide you through the learning material and develop your knowledge, skills, experience and abilities.
- The feedback on the activities should be treated as a discussion and an opportunity to improve.
- Do not provide broad responses, provide detail and rigour in your responses, that is what is expected of an investigator.
- Consider everything you do may be presented in court as evidence, how will your reports hold up?
- The only dumb question is the one you don’t ask.
