  1. Workplace Diversity

Improving diversity knowledge is a required component of every company. With more and more businesses having global presence, workplace diversity is a forgone conclusion. This course focuses on using strategies to be proactive and remove barriers, including how to build and encourage diversity in their workplace and community. PICA’s Workshop Diversity course will help participants understand what diversity is, and how they can create a more diverse environment. They will be instructed on how to use active listening and employ effective questioning techniques. By learning the right complaint resolution skills and choosing the right course of action communication throughout the organisation will be strengthened.

  1. Performance Management

Performance Management is making sure the employee and the organisation are focused on the same priorities. It helps the employee or individual set and meet their goals and improves the employee manager relationship. This is key in keeping an organisation and employee aligned, which improves performance and productivity. When changes occur Performance Management helps the transition to be smoother and less hectic. It helps the organisation and employee have a streamlined relationship which improves communication and interactions between the two groups. It will help close any gaps that exist in an employee’s skill-set and make them a more valuable employee through feedback and coaching.

  1. Office Health and Safety

The productivity of an organisation begins with the health of its employees. While it is not always possible to eliminate sickness, with the proper tools, reducing the illness and its effects can be within your reach. With this course, you will obtain what it takes to keep yourself and co-workers healthy. Participants will learn the core skills that will help them identify common illnesses, understand how they spread, recognize symptoms, apply treatment and prevention techniques, and establish an emergency response plan.

  1. Human Resource Management

Recently tasks that were originally thought to fall under the responsibility of the human resources department have become a part of many managers job descriptions. The sharing and diffusion of these tasks throughout the organisation has had an impact particularly on those that are not equipped with the skills or knowledge to deal with these issues.

PICA’s Human Resource Management workshop will give managers the basic tools to handle numerous human resource situations such as interviewing, orientation, safety, harassment, discrimination, violence, discipline, and termination.

  1. Communication Strategies

For the better part of every day, we are communicating to and with others. Whether it’s the speech you deliver in the boardroom, the level of attention you give your spouse when they are talking to you, or the look you give the cat, it all means something. PICA’s Communication Strategies workshop helps participants understand the different methods of communication and how to make the most of each of them. These strategies will provide a great benefit for any organisation and its employees.

  1. Civility at the workplace

While a training program on workplace manners and courtesy may seem like overkill, the reality is rudeness has become an epidemic costing industry millions a year. Indeed, what society seems to be gaining in terms of both knowledge and technological advancement, it’s losing out on basic social values that directly impact the bottom line. To address the growing problem of incivility in the work setting, this workshop introduces the concept of civility, its importance to an organisation, as well as its typical causes and effects. Skills needed to effectively practice civil behaviour, as well as different ways organisations can systematise civility in the workplace are addressed. A must for organisations or teams that are experiencing cultural issues because of behaviour.

  1. Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence describes the ability to understand one’s own feelings. It also provides great insight on how emotion influences motivation and behaviour. The concepts of Emotional Intelligence have been around since the early 20th century, but the term was first introduced by Wayne Payne in 1985. With PICA’s Emotional Intelligence workshop participants gain a better understanding of self-management and self-awareness. This in turn will give them better insight and control over their actions and emotions. With a greater understanding of emotions participants will experience a positive impact on their professional and personal lives.

  1. Conflict Resolution

This course will give participants a seven-step conflict resolution process that they can use and modify to resolve conflict disputes of any size. Participants will also be provided a set of skills in solution building and finding common ground. In PICA’s Conflict Resolution workshop, participants will learn crucial conflict management skills, including dealing with anger and using the Agreement Frame. Dealing with conflict is important for every organisation no matter what the size. If it is left unchecked or not resolved it can lead to lost production, absences, attrition, and even lawsuits.

  1. Appreciative Inquiry

Appreciative Inquiry has the ability to change the whole organisational culture by changing the people’s responses and communication. Through positive questioning employees will be directed to move in a positive direction. Recognising the strengths and values of what works, as opposed to what’s wrong will transform the individuals and in turn transform the organisation. Appreciative Inquiry is a shift from looking at problems and deficiencies and instead focusing on strengths and successes. It is a tool for change, and it will strengthen relationships throughout the organisation.

  1. Accountability at Workplace

Accountability helps to ensure that every employee will take responsibility for their performance and behaviours and continue to manage this responsibility. When we implement goals and communicate with one another, we can achieve powerful results. Building an accountable workplace requires strong teamwork and collaboration.

PICA’s Accountability in the Workplace course outlines informative tools and practical strategies that can be used to help empower the team to work towards achieving the benefits of accountability. Accountable employees will fuel performance and productivity and generate an enhanced workplace.
